Honoring the Life and Legacy of Dr. David Leaf, DC

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Dr. David Leaf, DC. His loss is deeply felt, not only by those who had the privilege of knowing him personally but by the entire Applied Kinesiology and chiropractic communities.

Dr. Leaf dedicated his lifetime to advancing the field of chiropractic care and Applied Kinesiology. A past president of the International College of Applied Kinesiology, he traveled the world—lecturing across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia—sharing his expertise in muscle testing and holistic treatment approaches. His work impacted countless lives, from Olympic athletes and world champions to professional players in the NFL, NBA, and NHL. As part of the medical staff for A.C. Milan, he brought his unique skill set to one of the most elite soccer teams in the world. His dedication to innovation in chiropractic and muscle testing made him one of the best integrated practitioners in the field.

Dr. Leaf showed remarkable courage and grace in his final year. At the 2024 ICAK Homecoming event, he openly and honestly shared his cancer diagnosis with the community, giving friends and colleagues the opportunity to express their gratitude and say their goodbyes. While it was a heartbreaking reality, he faced it with acceptance, knowing he would not be returning the following year. His willingness to share this moment speaks to the strength of his character and the deep connections he fostered within our profession.

Dr. George Gonzalez had the honor of knowing Dr. Leaf for more than 25 years. Their paths would cross when teaching around the country. David was a tough instructor, who demanded everyone's best. Past his tough teaching persona was a kind, loving, caring person who loved to laugh and enjoy his time with friends and family.

Dr. Leaf was a true advocate of Quantum Neurology, welcoming Dr. Gonzalez into the Applied Kinesiology community. It was an honor for Dr. Gonzalez to be recognized as one of the innovators of Applied Kinesiology in his last speech at the 2024 ICAK-USA Homecoming Event.

This is a profound loss for our community, but we are grateful for the wisdom, passion, and leadership he shared with us over the years. Dr. Leaf’s legacy will continue to inspire us as we carry forward the work he so deeply believed in.
